40 oz Van and the 40 oz collective have released their “Balmain” inspired snapback caps. The simplistic design helps to go with almost any look. A real New York classic piece of urbanwear to own for years to come. What is more amazing to me is the way the hats are marketed and sold. The only way to own one is to either know the “kool kids” or to order on the website (www.40ozNY.com). The catch to the site is that it is only open for release dates from the hours of 12pm-12am. That window is the only time you have to own a piece of urban history. Another fact of the matter is that the caps have and will sell out if you dont move quickly. Every release has been successful for the 40 oz crew, and can be seen on the socialites and celebrities alike.

Music News: G.O.O.D Music presents “Cruel Summer”

In a year that has already become a milestone in hip hop and R&B history, Sir Kanye West has dropped his latest body of work featuring his G.O.O.D music counterparts. In my honest opinion there has not been a body of work this valid to hip hop culture in a very long time from one music group. Honestly not since the Bad Boy days has there been one album featuring so many artist and every song on the album is just as powerful and hard-hitting as the one before it. Featuring artist such as R. Kelly, Jadakiss, Ghostface Killa, Raekwon and Ma$e, the G.O.O.D Music Cruel Summer compilation is sure to be one if not the best collectives for years to come.

Sneaker News: Chuck Taylor X Gorillaz

In my many sneaker adventures Ive always had a thing for limited edition Converse Chuck Taylors. This is one of the Gorillaz X Converse collaborations that recently came out. The Moto high varsity design gives off a letterman jacket feel, with a motorcycle sneakers edge.  I will definitely be snatching these up this week. Limited Edition: G-Shock X Wu-Tang Clan 20th Anniversary

G-Shock will be releasing a limited edition watch with the Wu-Tang Clan for there 20th Anniversary. The watch stays with the color scheme of the “WU” (yellow & black). All of the accents on the watch bring back the elements of  the original special edition g-shock collaborations. Be expecting them to release on October 15th.

Staple Pieces: The art of Timberland

Ever since I can remember the Timberland brand construction boot has always been a major player in the urban style scene. From Wu-Tang to Jay-Z the “Timbs” have been a staple piece for everyday looks and fits. Maybe its the toughness of the waterproof exterior that make them cool. Maybe its the “yellow” color way that makes every pair of hard indigo denims look so smooth. Or maybe even the fact that they come in so many colors and can be used in so many ways, such as on a construction site or as a canvas for an amazing artist to draw on. Whatever it is, Timbs are back and stronger than ever on the inner city streets and still standing the test of time.

Fashion Mathematics: Bape + Street Fighter II = Nostalgia!

Bape has returned once again to collaborate with a historic video game classic. Street Fighter is celebrating its 25th anniversary and Bape is commemorating that by releasing these t-shirts in the upcoming weeks. The shirts feature most of the main cast and crew of street fighter (Ryu, Ken E. Honda, Zangief, Blanka, Guile, Dhalsim and the lovely Chun Li). These two brands collaborating is definitely bringing back some good creative energy to the urban brand market and to fans worldwide.

G-shock opening Worldwide store NYC soho

So if you haven’t heard there will finally be a g-shock store opening. And what better place then NYC! My hometown will serve as the g-shock worldwide headquarters. This fall the doors will open to a g-shock paradise. In a few weeks I will have major details as well as the first looks inside. Stay tuned.
